If you burn your hand, learn from it and don't put your hand back on the stove. If your shirt gets stained, either toss it or embrace it. Don't waste time worrying about things that don't matter. Life terrifies me sometimes - scratch that - all the time. What really scares me is not being in control of what goes on around me and what's going to happen. It's as though I am holding steady to the wheel in the pouring rain because I'm afraid of crashing, but my tight grip is taking the joy out of the ride, because I just don't know what's going to happen next and that petrifies me. The other option is that I am laid back and trusting everything will go okay and I end up hydroplaning and crashing anyway. There just doesn't seem to be a safe option, and the time left is sneaking up on me and I'm just not ready. Do you ever feel that way too?
We are imperfect people and we live in an imperfect world. Disasters are bound to happen and we are inevitably going to make messes that are a pain to clean up. Going through life trying to avoid the mess, only leads to anxiety and a major slap in the face when we realize that that just isn't possible. Listen up, life moves so quickly and if you blink you could miss it. We so often just wish life away, wishing we could graduate already, wishing we could leave this small town and start our life. Stop. Stop worrying about getting your shoes dirty and start playing in the mud. If you burn your hand, learn from it, don't put your hand back on the stove. If your shirt gets stained: either toss it or embrace it. Don't waste time worrying about things that don't matter. Life is too short for that. Live for something, love someone, and laugh at the imperfections, and it'll all be worth it.

"Choose everyday to forgive yourself. You are human, flawed, but most of all worthy of love."
