It does not matter what has happened or what you have done, you are not alone Life is messy and devastating. Sometimes it just crashes into us like a wave and we barely have time to catch our breath before the next wave comes. We are just broken people trying to get by, and sometimes we're on our knees and can't get back up on our own. That is okay. Everyone is struggling to do what's right and concerned that they are running in the wrong direction. We are all broken because we have all been hurt. We've all been hurt because somebody else was broken, and they're broken because they're human. It's an endless cycle that won't stop until we decide to do something about our brokenness. (Luckily there is a solution!)
When I was fifteen, my soccer coach told me that I was not improving and I was un-coachable. As a sophomore working my butt off to make Varsity, that stung. No, it didn't sting, it felt like a sucker punch, because here I was giving my all, my blood, sweat, and tears, into this sport and not only was it unnoticed, it was discredited. Less than a month later, he screamed at me in front of my entire team to get off the playing field during practice, because I wasn't keeping up with the Varsity players. He didn't just hurt me, he embarrassed me. It was like someone pulled out that Jenga piece and the whole tower came crashing down. I didn't know what was left for me to do, nothing was going my way, and it felt like the whole world was falling apart, I didn't know where to go. So, I did the only thing I knew how to do, I surrendered it to Christ and ran to Him. I don't know what you are going through, maybe you are reading this and don't consider yourself "religious" or you cringe at the sound of "Christian." Maybe you know God but you've been a little out of touch lately. Either way or any way in between God is walking with you and is using this adverse situation to strengthen you. He has not left or forsaken you nor will he ever. It does not matter what has happened, or what you have done, you are not alone. God is with you, patiently waiting for you to surrender your control and allow Him to carry you for a while.

"Choose everyday to forgive yourself. You are human, flawed, but most of all worthy of love."
