Just like He knit us in our mothers' womb, He also perfectly and creatively designed His intent for us. We aren't here by coincidence, we are here to serve a purpose, His purpose. I like being in control and I like having and knowing a plan. If you would've told me, this time three years ago that by my senior year I wouldn't be playing soccer and would instead be swimming full time, I would've probably laughed in your face. Then I would've gotten really nervous, because if that were true than that would mean that my plan wouldn't have worked out like I intended. (Not to mention I could barely swim much more than a doggy paddle.) My plan was to play soccer all four years and by junior year I'd be starting varsity. It wasn't much longer after that, that God started to show me that soccer wasn't in His plan anymore.
He had been trying to get my attention long before the moment I finally listened. He showed me sign after sign that this wasn't what He wanted for me, but I ignored them all. I kept asking Him to show me what He wanted me to do, but I really just wanted Him to make the situation match my own plan. I didn't want what He wanted, I didn't believe He had something better for me, even though I kept telling myself I did. I wrestled with God for over a year, until I finally surrendered my pride and stubbornness. 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares The Lord," Like I said, trusting God's plan is really hard. In my case, I set a course for my life and when things started getting out of my control, I didn't know what to do. It's one thing to say that we trust God's plan, and it's a complete other thing to actually live that out. He'll just keep giving us opportunities to trust Him, and it's up to us whether we do our own thing and ignore it, or we actually take that step, jump, and leap of faith into His arms and follow His plan. Girls and guys, God's plan for our lives are so much better than what we could ever dream up. Just like He knit us in our mother's womb, He also perfectly and creatively designed His intent for us. We aren't here by coincidence, we are here to serve a purpose, His purpose. Don't take as long as I did and cause yourself the heartache. Listen to what He is trying to tell you, and trust that if he sends you through fire, He'll carry you through to the other side. Give Him the control because unlike us messy humans, He knows what He is doing.

Love this, Libby! A wonderful truth and a great reminder for us all to take a moment to stop and pay attention to where God is leading us :)
