Sometimes you have to see beyond the closed doors, beyond the rejection, and beyond the hurt, because God is always thinking three steps ahead. I've recently been in a season of closed doors. I've had dreams for where I'd be as a senior in high school about to transition into the next chapter of my life, but that isn't where I am right now. I'm doing different things, not better not worse, just different. I thought that I'd get a big scholarship to college and that I'd have time to go out on Friday nights. I thought I'd have a boyfriend, that I wouldn't be struggling with the same insecurities I did as a freshman and the list goes on. However, over the past several months as opportunities arose for my plans to be fulfilled, they weren't and it's often difficult to see anything but what might've been, but God never says no without a reason. What He has for us is so much more amazing than what we have for ourselves. His plans always include going above and beyond our own, but sometimes that means taking our greatest fear and making it a reality. Sometimes, it means not getting a scholarship and trusting that He'll make a way. It means trusting Him to provide instead of doing it all myself.
I fully believe that God has an amazing plan for my life and for how He wants to use me for His kingdom, but in this season it's critical to really understand that when God closes a door, He kicks open a window. It can be really easy to just see the door slammed in your face, but if you really take a step back you'll see that He's taking the dreams we have for ourselves and is slowly molding them to match the dreams He has for us. So no, I didn't get a full ride, but I'm still able to go to school, and God will provide a way for me to do so. Yeah I still struggle with some of the same insecurities I did when I was 15 but I've also come a long way. Sometimes you have to see beyond the closed doors, beyond the rejection, and beyond the hurt, because God is always thinking three steps ahead. Whatever hurt or plans you are holding onto, surrender them. Trust that if it doesn't work out He is still good because He is and He always will be. What we give God, He will always multiply. Change your perspective and enjoy the life that God has for you, because it's going to be beautiful.
